Allow me to interrupt your candy comas (or eclectic* pagan honorifics to The Great Pumpkin, depending on your perspective) to bring you a brief list of...

What Misty Has Been Doing Since Last She Updated:

- Falling in love with Pushing Daisies, rather despite myself. It's so saccharine it makes my teeth hurt and I worry about my figure, but I keep saying things like, "oh, I'll just have one more piece, what could it hurt?" and then waking up the next morning with bits of crust in my hair and sticky fingers.

- Lusting like mad over Guitar Hero III. I want it so badly even though I haven't played the first two in ages. (I've also been ignoring the real guitar I received for Christmas last year. *guilty*)

- Finalizing the logistics of a trip to London with the best friend in May. I can't really afford this but much like my unholy obsession with GH3 I so desperately need it. A week-long vacation to regain some zen and hopefully a bit of creativity - what's not to like? We're thinking of staying in the Crowne Plaza St. James because there's a kickass deal on priceline. Any yays or nays for the hotel? Suggestions for restaurants and the like?

- Beginning to exercise and make a general attempt at being more healthy. I'm also learning to fold origami. Badly, mind you, but still.

- Finished watching every last episode of Wonderfalls, which came highly recommended by [info]disi. Oh my god, how wonderful is was this show? After a few episodes the best friend kept shooting me odd looks, and pointed out the eerie similarity between mine and Jay's life.

Me: "Yeah, well at least I don't hear little animals talking to me and telling me to do things."
BF: *odd look #eleventy*
Me: "Okay, I totally do! But other people hear the birds talking, too! I'm not a basketcase yet! ...am I?"
BF: "We'll start to worry when they tell you to help people. As long as they only poop on your head and laugh I think you're safe."

And that brings us to...

- Working non-stop for the past two weeks because apparently no one else can be trusted to dress as a pirate and frighten the little sharks. I've only had one day off in the last fourteen, and that turned out to be our neighborhood trick-or-treat day. It started off wonderfully different and enjoyable but two weeks is way too long to be dressing in the same costume, hearing the same lame-ass pirate jokes, and repeating the same presentation over and over and OVER again. (The "Live Ghosts of Pirate Cove Story-Telling"? That was me. Yep, just me.)

Pirates are good, clean, family fun - unless they happen to be real pirates, in which case they are ambiguous, dirty, and usually naughty fun. But after this promotion ended today all I can say is NO MORE PIRATES EVER! IF I NEVER SEE ANOTHER PIRATE AGAIN with the possible exception of Johnny Depp IT WILL BE TOO SOON. NUH UH PIRATE CHILD, TURN YOUR SCURVY EYE AWAY! NO CANDY FOR YOU!

*SLAM*

Tsk. Amateur. Everyone knows the proper trick-or-treat receptacle is a pillowcase.

There were a few good things that happened during Ghosts. We handed out trick-or-treat candy this year, and got to keep a lot of what was left over. I now have enough Dum Dums to keep me writing for months. Oh, and

- I was voted employee of the month for November. *poses all centerpiece like* I got another little penguin painting, a certificate, and a $50 gift certificate to Max & Erma's (since I have no need of a free parking pass, which is traditional). Yay me!

* read: "naughty" ;)
