I never cared for Doctor Who. I tried watching the first couple episodes of season one and the cheesy sci fi turned me right off. Still, when I discovered my local library had season one of Torchwood I thought what the hell and gave it a shot. So many of you seemed to like it after all, it can't be that bad.

I want to marry Ianto and give him little confidence-boosting pats on the head all the time. He's got sad-puppy-face down. And a stopwatch, so awesome.

I'd marry Ianto, but I'd have amazingly awesome sex with Captain Jack. Both of them. (What? Ianto can come, too. On second thought, I'll just watch.)

Seriously people, all of you were right. Jack's fantastic! Or John Barrowman's fantastic, either one. He reminds me a lot of Nathan Fillion, which is probably why I like him so much. The effects were just almost as bad here as on Who (a staple in British sci-fi, I'm led to understand) but I didn't mind it as much.

I'm going to scrounge around for the season two dvd's on Monday, but I'd love recs for first season fic, art, reviews, icons - anything really. I'm always coming upon these fandoms after the fact, which means I miss the original squee but can get the best stuff filtered to me through my friendslist. *crosses her fingers*

I'm not spoiled for anything beyond season one, but I've heard James Marsters shows up later on. Whoo cha!

I'd really like an animated icon of Barrowman going "Torchwood, yeah!" from the dvd bonus features. Any idea where I can find one or the caps to make one?
